Why does my keyboard type the wrong characters?

When your keyboard types incorrect characters, it’s often due to language or layout settings. Go to your computer’s language settings to verify the correct layout is selected (e.g., QWERTY vs. AZERTY). This problem can also happen if your keyboard drivers are outdated or incompatible; updating or reinstalling drivers through Device Manager can help. On laptops, function keys may also change layout; verify if any Fn key or NumLock key is activated.
